The Pack helps the scout grow....

Part of the Law of the Pack is ...the Pack helps the scout grow.  Our Pack under the guidance of the BSA will offer your son opportunities to grow civically, spiritually and healthy.  Below are some progams that spotlight these areas.

Duty to God

Your son will be able to participate in spiritual awards and events that are both scout and your child's religion centric.  Scouting does not have a religious affiliation and has programs for all religions.   Our Pack offers these opportunities during the course of the year:

Awards

Catholic – Light of Christ/ Parvuli Dei

         Jewish – Maccabee/ Aleph

Protestant – God and Me/God and Family

         Islam – Bismullah

All other religions also have awards

Activities

          Ten Commandment Hike

          Fun and Faith Days

         Scout Sunday/ Scout Sabbath

Duty to Country

Our Scouts are exposed to understanding government, honoring fellow americans and respect for our flag.  They will gain these experiences through:

  • Visiting local government buildings while in session
  • Meeting local politicians
  • Placing flags at Pinelawn Cemetery to honor our veterans
  • Proper flag etiquette
  • Visiting with Fire or Police Stations

Healthy Lifestyle

As we all are aware, childhood health problems are on the rise and part of our responsibility is to help support the health education your child is receiving.  Your son will discuss at every level in Cub Scouting good nutrition and the importance of physical exercise.  Your child, with your permission will be exposed to healthy snack ideas and games of physical challenge.

The scouting program allows for modifications to these programs to accomodate any dietary restrictions or disability your son has.  If your child has any special needs, we will happily and if you prefer, discretely accomodate your son.
